I completely agree with you that physical violence is not an appropriate form of punishment, regardless of the crime committed. It is important to ensure that justice is served in a fair and appropriate manner, while also ensuring that the rights and dignity of the offender are respected.
There are many alternative forms of punishment that can be used instead of physical violence. Some of these include:
2. Community Service: The offender can be ordered to perform a certain number of hours of community service, such as cleaning up public areas, helping out at a charity, or other beneficial work for the community.
3. Fines: The offender can be required to pay a fine as a penalty for their actions. The amount of the fine can be determined based on the severity of the crime.
4. Restitution: The offender can be required to pay restitution to the victim or victims of their crime, to help compensate for any damages or losses incurred.
5. Counseling or Therapy: The offender can be required to attend counseling or therapy sessions to address any underlying issues that may have contributed to their criminal behavior.
These are just a few examples of alternative forms of punishment that can be used instead of physical violence. It is important that the punishment is appropriate for the crime committed, while also ensuring that the rights and dignity of the offender are respected

This is nice as a form of formality, because at times some people are innocent.
ReplyDeleteIn the real sense, if for example a person is caught in the act of armed robbery, or Rape in the act it's satisfactory to the victim and to the anger of the public to mob such people .
But if such reciprocity is allowed some mistake might be made in administering jungle justice so it's best for the case to be left to the hands of the court, but we have instances where in the applicability of the rule of law some people are bigger than the law. Mobbing reaches the people who are unreachable by law.
In conclusion, mobbing serves as a quick justice system which doesn't give room for manipulation and the prohibition of mobbing can't be actualized in Nigeria yet.
You are correct!
DeleteJungle Justice should be prohibited
